NAATI stands for the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters, the sole national accreditation body that issues accreditations for translation and interpreting practitioners in Australia, and is responsible for setting, maintaining and promoting high professional standards.

 

NAATI accredited translators and interpreters work with organisations and individuals alike. In Australia, many government bodies, such as  the Department of Immigration and Border Protection , the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, the Australian Taxation Office and Vicroads, courts, law enforcement agencies, and public hospitals, and other organisations, such as educational institutions and the big four banks,  only accept translation and interpreting services provided by NAATI accredited or recognised translators and  interpreters.
